I leave for Singapore in 36 hours!

Eeeeeeeek!

There had better be lots of fic waiting for me when I get home!  *glares*  :)

Anyway, before I go, I'm posting these two fics.  They're Lila ones; the first is about Kelly and Shannon, the second is about Lila's friendship with Tony!


I was thinking about my favourite Abby/Gibbs scenes yesterday, and I'm curious to know what scene you guys like the most.

The one that really gets me is in Frame Up, the episode where Tony gets framed for murder.  I love when Gibbs comes into the lab, because he knows that Abby'll be upset.  He sets out to make sure she's ok.  I love how he's touching her thoughout the entire scene, rubbing her neck and massaging her back.  Watch his hands right after he asks her if she's alright - there's a high angle that looks down on Abby and you can see her back.  He's looking at her really intently, as if convincing her she's not to blame is really important to him.  Plus, he kisses her, so of course it's great!

So!  If you'd be so kind, tell me your favourite scene!

Ok.  I have NO idea how people are going to respond to this one.  

This came about in three parts:

1.  A late-night conversation at work with a friend about sex...yeah, you don't want to know.

2. As we all know, checkout-chick really means full-time therapist.  I've been consulted on divorces, affairs, children, fathers who won't bond with their children, children who won't bond with their fathers, the fact that it's the mother's fault a child cries (simply because the mother doesn't understand the baby's needs - that had me and the next customer grinding out teeth), condoms, mothers who think their son might be gay, and now?   Pregnancy.  I have heard the woes of pregnancy my friend and let me tell you, there are more things to deal with than swollen ankles.

3. A bit too much alcohol, and here we have it.  

Sex during pregnancy.  Just because my little drunken self thought it would be a challenge.

“I mean, obviously we couldn’t have sex in MTAC, because I don’t think the Director and the tech staff would like that…except for that guy with all the tweed vests.  The point is, if nobody was in there and China wasn’t watching on the big screen, we could because we wouldn’t need anything.  Spontaneous sex.  It’s not like I can get doubly pregnant.”

Oh yeah...NC-17.

A little break from A Second Chance, although I am halfway through the next chapter.

This is a sweet little fic that was inspired by a lovely couple who come through my work.  They have a three month old, who keeps them up at night, so they chat to me and my friend Kate, who works the graveyard shift with me.

 - In an effort to get a three week old Lila to stop crying and go to sleep, Gibbs takes her for a drive in the middle of the night.

There are songs in this, but it's NOT a songfic.  I treat songfics like smelly socks.

Also, I would like to dedicate this to [info]indigoblue4ever who is just an absolutely charming reviewer.  Your comments are always appreciated greatly.

I ummed and ahhed about the end of this story for a while, but found that I'd done all I could.

Abby and Gibbs fight over what should be done with Kelly the boat.

I went to the International Air Show out in Avalon, and I have found my calling; to travel the world and see airshows.  My aim at the moment is to see the Royal International Air Tattoo in England, RAF Fairford.  I have pictures if anybody is interested in planes.  There were F-16s, F/A-18s, F-111s, C-17s, Caribous, Hercules.  The only thing is that I got BURNT yesterday and now my face resembles in both colour and texture a crustacean.

Salut!

It was [info]brightillusions birthday yesterday/today/tomorrow/stamps feet in annoyance at time zones, so what we have here is BIRTHDAY FIC!

*throws tinsel in the air*

I may only know you on the internet, but you have seriously made the past year much more enjoyable.  You're always ready to offer kind words about fic, comfort about personal things and crazy-ass NCIS reviews that I look forward to each week as much as the episodes themselves.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY my dear!!!

She charged me with the task of writing a fifth variation of Lila's first word, and that word had to be Mickey.  So, here we have it!

Please be warned.  This is so saccharine it'll cause tooth decay.  I know many of you probably don't have any teeth left, what with my propensity to write fluff, but...well, here you go.  I have some angst on the way.

First of all, let me just say that I hope everybody is enjoying their holidays, or looking forward to impending time off, and that everybody is all set for Christmas.  Everyone else, I hope you're healthy and happy!  Snuggle your family and friends up tight!

Secondly, yes, the much feared NC-17 fic was posted, however it was friends-locked.  I would be happy to friend people and then defriend them at their request once they've read it, but I'm shy and nervous about it, so I like to know who is reading it.  No other fics have been friends locked.  I've made a few new friends, so I'd like to say a big hello!  Here we have it...HELLO!  :)

[info]kalliekat I'm almost done betaing your fic, and upon your revision, would be most happy to post it here.  Let me just say for now that I love it.

[info]tonnie20021969 I'd be happy to look at your fic and help with any ideas.  Give me a shout whenever you're ready, but take your time and wait until you're ready.

[info]wiccagirl24 I just remembered this:  yes, to 'rug up' is a phrase, suggesting one put on a lot of clothes or use a blanket to keep warm.  Also, keep up with the good fic and I hope to see it posted soon.  I'd love to beta some others if you ever feel like throwing things my way, because I'm a beta wench.  Struck by sudden thought; did "Taken" ever get finished?

Now, this here is most likely (depending on the muse) a one-off.  As in, I probably won't be exploring the ending further.  It IS fluffy, but with plot.  Supposed to be funny, but I can never tell.

Sometimes I write such ridiculous fics I just feel I should give up altogether.

Here's part two of Protected.  It is for BJ, the cat.

There are two, slightly different endings.  The second one is divided from the first with this:

The second one is slightly mushy, but I think my mushometer rings the bell comparatively lower than others, so...It deals with Abby and Shannon.

This is my favourite thing I've ever written, if I may say so myself.  I haven't re-read it though, because I just spilt it out in an hour of sleepyness.

I really really hope you like it.

It has a slighty dark aspect to it at the start, but I can't think of anybody here who would mind.

A tragedy befalls Abby and Gibbs during her pregnancy that nearly breaks them.

I'm not sure what to think of this one.  I sort of like it, and sort of don't.  I wrote it a while ago, ummed and ahhhed over it and decided against posting it.  Then I found it again this afternoon, decided that maybe the sentiments explored in it were worth a shot and revamped it.  So here it is!  :)


[info]wiccagirl24 I'm sorry the beta work on your last story is taking me a little while.  This week had been a bit rough and I've practically been sleeping at work in a sleeping bag.  I am getting there, and I'm really sorry for the delay, love.

Testing the waters:  I know it's been done to death, but would anybody be interested in a kidnapped Lila fic?  Like I said, cliched, but I have a few basic ideas.

I'm starting to doubt how I feel about my fics.  I'm worried that if they weren't written by me, and each word was new to me as I read it, then would I think it was too OC?  I don't know...maybe I'm just having a fic crisis.  Any suggestions you guys have on keeping things in character would be greatly appreciated.  Notes on where you think I've strayed.  I mean, obviously this is AU, but I want it to be IC AU.  Yeah, now I'm just showing off the acronyms.

Um, well this fic here.  A few weeks ago, I wrote two small stories about Lila's first words.  I said they were two of four and this is the third version.  Rather short and descriptive.

This was written in the midst of a sleepy sleepy haze that somehow managed to stop the sufferer from actually sleeping.  Know what I mean?

It's a Lila fic, slightly based on this prompt, by [info]lexie_b

"Abby bringing Lila to work for some reason, and having the whole team finding excuses to come and visit?  Very fluffy and cutesy, I know."

Well, it's fluffy and cutesy.  "Fluuuuuff, fluuuuuff, fluff, fluff, fluff, fluuuuuff, fluuuuuff, fluff, fluff, fluff, fluuuuuff, fluuuuuff, fluff, fluff, fluff, fluuuuuff." - Me, singing "Fluff" to the tune of Star Wars.

This story is a bit out of character.  It's written as an Abby/Gibbs fic with Lila, but that's really just the surface.  I've spent most of today's hours that weren't at work crying about my mum, so this is a product of that.  It's a reflection on death, loss, cemetaries and love.  About half way through I demanded that I put my feet back on the ground and tried to make it a fic, hence it's being posted here.

It's not terribly out of character (I hope!), it's just that I don't address the eccentric goth side of Abby, rather I reflect on her as a mother.

If anybody here has lost someone, or is in the process of losing someone, then maybe this isn't for you.  I'd love for people to read it, and I like to think that it has a comforting end, when so many don't. 

For my mum, the mother cat.

EDIT:  Due to a little ambiguity on my part and the resulting confusion, I just wanted to say that my mum is very much alive!  She's terribly sick, but still with us and there are lots of yummy drugs in the world these days.  So, *tacklehugs you all*

Ok, I've never had as much difficulty with a story as with this one.  It's short, because I wanted it to be restrained, but I hope I get the idea across without falling into the realm of melodrama.

A small Lila story.  Tell me if you want Lila to go away for a while.

A series of Lila vignettes.  They don't really fit in to any timeline, so consider them stand-alone pieces, if you'll allow.  I think the tense is a bit funny in the last one, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
